Bamberg is the new district champion!

On Tuesday, 26th of May the four best teams of the Bavarian district Upper Franconia (Oberfranken) played in the Hans-Walter-Wild Stadium against each other: The Frankenwald Gymnasium Kronach, the Franz Ludwig Gymnasium Bamberg, the Reinhart-Gymnasium Hof and the Wirtschaftsgymnasium Bayreuth.
The viewers saw six really exciting matches - but in the end there had to be one winner. The Franz-Ludwig-Gymnasium from Bamberg is the district champion 2009! Congratulations!! This team will participate in the finals of the Bafana-Cup in July. Wolfgang Lüdtke from the Upper Franconian government opend the match and also handed over the medals at the end.
The second mayor of Bayreuth, Thomas Ebersberger also welcomed the teams to this special "Bafana-Cup" district finals.
And we are very glad that Hans Ebersberger visited this district final, too. Mister Ebersberger worked for the FIFA and the DFB, teached and judged referees for many years and so is a real expert for the local, national and international football. He also was director of a grammar school in Bayreuth and is the founder of the Hans-Ebersberger-Foundation, which supports sports in schools.
