2010 World Cup ticket sales is booming - but...

On the website from "Soccer Laduma", a South African sports newspaper, one can read these days, that

"According to FIFA, -2010 World Cup ticket sales or rather the application thereof - is booming with up to 800 000 tickets already requested in the first stage of sales.

But the author also asks, how many of those requests were local. "A Soccer-Laduma online poll revealed 79% of the readers think the application process is unfair to South Africans.
Ticket sales opened on February 20 and the first phase of applications close on March 31. South Africans can apply through FNB branches or on the FIFA website like the rest of the world.

Soccer-Laduma journalist Gail Swartz has applied for tickets and said, “The actual application wasn’t a problem but the prices of tickets, I feel, will not allow the average South African to see games. I was forced to apply for the cheapest seats – category 4 – for the semi’s and the final and I’m sure everyone locally has, making them hard to get. We only find out if our application is successful next month (April).”.

What do you think about that?
